Easy Miso Sauce Recipe 5 Minutes

Miso is a part of traditional Japanese cuisine. It is made from a koji which is a kind of a fungus, salt and fermented soybeans. It is a paste used as a seasoning, helping to enhance the flavors of Japanese cuisine. It’s most popularly used in soups or savory dishes.

Miso sauce is very easy to make. It is used as a condiment for dumplings or you can use this as a salad dressing.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp white rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp miso paste, you may use white or yellow miso paste as you desire
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • Water to use for consistency

Method

In a bowl add miso paste, vinegar, ginger, garlic paste, soya sauce, sesame seed oil and honey and mix well. Now add in water to develop the consistency that you prefer. Mostly a thick yet runny consistency is most favourable. You can store this sauce in a jar in the fridge for a week. Serve this with fried shrimp or dumplings. I usually prefer it as a salad seasoning. It has a very savory flavor and it adds more flavor to your food
